Paint Final Inspection Tips
Would you like a few tips, given by Professional Paint Contractors, on how to check a finished paint job? During the finel stages of a paint or refinishing project, it is a good idea to do a walk through and assess the quality of the work. It is a good idea to do your inspection during the day when there is a lot of natural light, as well as a time when there is mostly artificial light.

Check the paint coverage on surfaces, look for consistency. The places you can often find poor coverage is around window frames and corners. Check for clean lines and an even finish.Yellow Paint

Surfaces should be smooth, check for bumps, cracks, adhesives or left over wall paper. These defects are often the result of poorly applied coats, or a lack of prep work. If you see that something is wrong make sure to ask your paint contractor about it.

A proper finish can require several coats of paint. Check for bleed through, you should not see the old paint color through the paint. Make sure the primer does not bleed thourgh the paint as well.

After an up close inspection, stand back and view the work from a distance. Sometimes problems can't be seen until you actually take a few steps back and see the entire project. If you see a flaw it may have been missed during a closer inspection. Walk through a second time to look for hidden flaws.

You shouldnt have to do this inspection on your own, often times the paint contractor will do the final walk through with you and help you assess their work.
